remembering billie holiday
the definition of the word

SATCHMO & LADYDAY were two of the most influential figures in the history of jazz music. This is a beautiful picture of Billie Holiday. She credited Louis Armstrong for being a very strong musical influence on her life, as she grew up listening to his earlier recordings on her mother's Victrola. Billie and "Pops", as she would refer to him as, can only be heard on a handful of recordings. This is also a nice shot of Armstrong's coronet. Some of Armstrong's classic recordings were also the dates he did with Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. Do yourself a favor and purchase some of these recordings for your collection. They are truly historic!
